Oldina Ski Club was founded in 1960 as the C.I.G Ski Club.

As the name suggests, most of the founding members worked for C.I.G. Company at the time. The name of the Club was changed to Oldina (Aboriginal for snowflake) in the late sixties as the make-up of the membership no longer reflected the C.I.G. Company.

The first Lodge was built by the members on the current site in the early sixties, and was the eleventh lodge to be built in Perisher Valley. The site was selected as it offered one of the best views in the valley from Mount Perisher Chair lift to the Centre Valley Terminal. The original lodge was a three storey building comprising seven twin share bunk rooms with three shared bathroom facilities, kitchen, overflow area, lounge/dining, drying room and boiler room.

In 1982, at the end of the first lease, the lodge needed rebuilding to meet the current building regulations. The old lodge was demolished and a new lodge was built, retaining where possible the style and character of the old lodge. The funding for the new lodge was raised by a share call from the members and a bank loan, which has now been fully repaid and the current lodge has no outstanding loans.

The Club has a lease until 2050 from the National Parks & Wildlife Service.

Oldina Ski Club is located in the centre of Perisher Valley directly opposite the Centre Valley lifts. The club’s lounge/dining area has expansive views of the valley from Mount Perisher to the Manor (formerly the Valley Inn) at the Perisher Centre. The lodge has 3 floors with the living areas located on the first and second floors.
